We all get plenty of news these days. Nourish your soul with poetry! Join me for an enlivening day.
In challenging times, we need poetry more than ever to light our way and bring us back home to our hearts and souls. We need poems as an outlet and a beacon, as pleasure and instigation.
We’ll look at examples of great poetry of praise and protest to get inspired and discover how these impassioned states can ignite and empower our own poems.
We’ll embrace these strong emotions to discover how they give life to our writing. And we’ll discover how our writing gives us a richer, deeper life as we let our thoughts and feelings flow into form.
We’ll uncover the linking bridge between praise and protest that enables us to stand strongly and compellingly for what we most cherish, rather than falling into sounding preachy or didactic.
And we’ll engage in the creative play of writing poems as a powerful, meaningful act in favor of all that we love.
Open to all levels of experience.

Maxima Kahn writes poetry, fiction and essays and works as a creative life coach, editor and teacher.
